They also distributed advertising leaflets and promotional materials containing tuberculosis prevention guidelines to raise awareness about the main symptoms, infection routes, diagnosis, and treatment of tuberculosis, emphasizing the importance of tuberculosis prevention and management.

Tuberculosis is a respiratory infectious disease caused by the tuberculosis bacteria. Since infectious tuberculosis patients can spread the bacteria, special caution is required. The main symptoms include △cough lasting more than 2 weeks △fever △night sweats △weight loss, and since it can be completely cured with medication for more than 6 months, early detection and timely treatment are of utmost importance.

Ahn Jinhwa, Director of the Muan-gun Public Health Center, stated, “Although the number of tuberculosis patients is decreasing annually, the number of tuberculosis patients aged 65 and older is increasing. Therefore, we will strengthen tuberculosis education and promotion and actively conduct tuberculosis screenings for the elderly to do our best for early detection and treatment.”
