The meeting, held online in real-time, was attended by Professor Gong Nahyeong and instructor Kim Soyoung (Korean Language Education Center) from the Honam University KF Global e-School Korean Language Education Project team, as well as Professor Bae Mungi (Department of Korean Language) and students from Abai State Pedagogical University. They had a Q&A session regarding the 'Understanding Korean Language and Socioculture (VOD content)' class taken during the fall semester.

Abai State Pedagogical University newly joined the KF Global e-School starting from the fall semester in September and held its first meeting on this day. Professor Bae Mungi, who participated in the meeting, stated, "Kazakhstani students have few opportunities to talk with Koreans, so I wanted to let them attend classes taught by other Korean teachers," explaining the reason for joining the KF Global e-School.

He also added, "The class is conducted in a format where students learn vocabulary and expressions related to Korean life and culture using VOD content and then engage in discussions based on this material."

During the meeting, participants introduced themselves and exchanged questions and answers about the VOD content class. They also shared additional writing assignments that were conducted alongside the content class.

Dayana, a student from Abai State Pedagogical University, expressed her determination, saying, "Five years ago, I was introduced to Korean YouTube by my uncle who studied abroad in Korea. Since then, I have been interested in Korea, which led me to choose this major. My next goal is to study abroad in Korea. In the future, I want to teach Korean language and culture to others."

Professor Gong Nahyeong, who also participated in the meeting, said, "The students’ proficiency was very high, and I could feel their enthusiasm. I hope we can meet again next time."

Honam University, supported by the Korea Foundation, has been providing Korean language education VOD videos for various subjects since March 2022, exchanging with 11 universities in 6 countries including Russia, Thailand, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, China, Azerbaijan, and Singapore for three years. The university plans to continue holding real-time online meetings to strengthen interactive communication.
