KIPO Spreads 'K-Invention Education' to Developing Countries Including Cambodia

On the 20th, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) announced that it will jointly conduct the "2023 Developing Countries Officials and Teachers Leadership Invitation Training" with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) from the 20th to the 27th.

The training was organized to transfer the Korean-style invention education method to officials and teachers from developing countries, supporting them to carry out invention talent development programs locally.

This month’s training includes 15 participants such as the Deputy Minister of Education from Cambodia, senior officials from the Ministries of Education and Commerce of five countries including Egypt and Vietnam, as well as principals and teachers.

They will participate in programs covering ▲ Korea’s invention and intellectual property education policies and laws/institutions ▲ idea generation techniques ▲ hands-on invention education experiences ▲ and the role of teachers in the problem-solving process through invention.

Yoon Se-young, Head of the Industrial Property and Trade Cooperation Team at KIPO, said, “We expect that officials and teachers from developing countries who participate in the training will experience Korean-style invention education and then return to their countries to raise awareness about intellectual property.” He added, “KIPO will continue to strive to spread the Korean-style invention education model for the development of developing countries and sustainable economic growth.”
