Geumcheon-gu Selected for Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Market-Type Business Group Infrastructure Support Project'... Secures 362 Million KRW in National Funding for 'Good Lunchbox' and 'Good Laundry' Business Group Facility Support

Geumcheon-gu Secures 362 Million KRW in National Funding for Senior Job Program Selected in Public Contest

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it has been selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s “Support Project for Building Infrastructure for Senior Job Market-Type Business Groups” and secured 362 million KRW in national funding.

This contest aims to strengthen the competitiveness of “market-type business groups,” where seniors jointly operate small-scale stores to create jobs, and to establish facilities and spaces so that participating seniors can generate high profits from job projects.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare comprehensively evaluated the project capabilities of executing organizations, project effectiveness, and the scale of local government investment, selecting five institutions nationwide.

Geumcheon-gu and the executing organization, Geumcheon Senior Club, proposed facility support for the “Good Lunchbox” business group, which delivers or sells lunchboxes targeting vulnerable groups such as single-person households, and the “Good Laundry” business group, which provides laundry, laundry collection, and delivery services for residents of large apartment complexes.

Geumcheon Senior Club is a senior job support organization established in June 2019. It operates various job business groups for seniors’ social participation and economic independence and has been selected as an excellent senior job institution by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for three consecutive years.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We are pleased to have been selected through public-private cooperation, enabling us to operate a large-scale senior job project,” and added, “We will strive to increase quality jobs and make Geumcheon a happy, age-friendly city.”
