Gyeonggi Province will hold a "Visiting Company RE100 Briefing Session" starting from the 22nd to promote the 'Industrial Complex RE100' project and recruit participating companies.
The Industrial Complex RE100 project involves installing solar power generation facilities on factory roofs or idle land within industrial complexes and supplying the renewable energy generated there to factories within the complex and external companies.
To advance the project, Gyeonggi Province selected eight private investment consortiums, including SK E&S and LS ELECTRIC, through a public contest and review committee since May. Subsequently, Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province signed an 'Industrial Complex RE100 Investment Agreement' with the consortium representatives in July.
Hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Promotion Institute, this briefing session will be held a total of eight times, once with each of the eight contracted investment companies involved in the Gyeonggi Industrial Complex RE100 project.
During the briefing, Gyeonggi Province will announce the project plans, including incentives for companies participating in the 'Industrial Complex RE100.' The contracted investment companies will introduce the 'Industrial Complex-type Solar Power Plant Business Model,' suitable for carbon neutrality and RE100 implementation.
The briefing sessions are open not only to companies located within industrial complexes but also to companies at individual sites.
Kim Yeon-ji, Director of the Energy Industry Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "The briefing session will provide an opportunity to guide Gyeonggi's Industrial Complex RE100 policy and listen to the voices of companies residing in the complexes." She added, "We will support industrial complex companies to earn stable additional revenue through the Industrial Complex RE100 project and prepare for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management."
