"Asian Visitors Not Welcome" Surge in Tourist Entry Denials... Impact of US Prostitution Crackdown

Illegal Prostitution Establishments Exposed Targeting Professionals

Cases of young Japanese female tourists being denied entry when visiting Hawaii are rapidly increasing. Recently, a 'high-end Asian female prostitution' organization was uncovered in the United States, causing even ordinary tourists to suffer.

According to TV Asahi on the 15th (local time), Japanese women who visited cities such as the United States, Hawaii, and New York for tourism purposes in the past year were denied entry and forced to return to Japan.

A 32-year-old woman living in the Osaka area stated that she "came for tourism," but because she tried to enter alone and was not proficient in English, she was detained at the Hawaii airport for 27 hours before being forcibly sent back to Japan.

In this way, the U.S. federal government has recently been denying entry to Asian women who visit regions alone, cannot speak English, and have no specific place to stay.

This is due to the recent exposure of a 'high-end Asian female prostitution' case targeting professionals in Massachusetts and Virginia.

The U.S. Massachusetts Federal Prosecutor's Office announced on the 8th that they arrested a group operating illegal prostitution establishments targeting professionals such as elected officials, corporate executives, doctors, and professors.

Most of the women working at this establishment are reported to be Japanese and Korean nationals who, through 'agents,' agree to receive 4 million yen (approximately 34.81 million KRW) over four weeks, staying in the U.S. for tourism purposes before returning home.
