68% Support Seoul Annexation, 29.7% Oppose
About 7 out of 10 residents in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, support the incorporation of Gimpo into Seoul, according to a public opinion survey.

On the 17th, Gimpo City disclosed the results of a survey conducted by the public opinion research firm Innertech Systems from the 15th to the 16th, targeting 1,010 residents aged 18 and older living in Gimpo.
In this survey, the approval rate for incorporation was the highest at 68%, with 29.7% opposing and 2.3% responding that they were unsure.
Additionally, when asked where Gimpo should belong if not incorporated, between the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province and Gyeonggi Southern Province, 42.1% chose the Gyeonggi Northern Special Autonomous Province, 33.8% chose Gyeonggi Southern Province, and 24.1% were unsure.

Gimpo City plans to conduct one-on-one face-to-face surveys starting next week to gather more precise public opinion, as well as carry out ARS surveys to monitor opinion trends.
Meanwhile, this survey was conducted entirely via automated telephone response system (ARS). The sampling error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and the response rate was 6.1%.
