The World's First Meta Music System Applied: 'aespa World' Created

SM Entertainment is partnering with music tech startup Versys to establish ‘aespa World’ on Naver Z’s metaverse platform ZEPETO. Versys’ meta music system applied in ‘aespa World’ is a technology that received the ‘2023 CES Best Innovation Award.’

SM announced that it will build and operate ‘aespa World’ starting from the 17th, coinciding with the release of aespa’s 4th mini album. ‘aespa World’ integrates aespa’s worldview and the title track ‘Drama’ audio. On ZEPETO’s ‘aespa World,’ users can experience the metaverse within aespa’s universe directly by accessing aespa’s music tracks, costumes, hairstyles, and various accessories.

‘aespa World’ is broadly divided into ▲Lobby ▲My Stage ▲Item Shop ▲UGC (User-Generated Content) board spaces. When a user’s avatar roams around ‘aespa World’ and touches various objects within the world, ‘Drama’ and other music tracks play, allowing users to experience diverse and new content such as songs and choreography.

Notably, unlike previous K-POP worlds, ‘aespa World’ features three key characteristics: interactivity, worldview realization, and UGC. It offers an interactive experience where users can collect aespa’s musical items and remix them to create their own music. It faithfully implements aespa’s worldview and encourages the creation and sharing of short-form content through a re-creation process, differentiating itself through these three features.

SM also plans to expand communication with global overseas fans through the ZEPETO metaverse. Currently, there are over 50,000 existing posts tagged with aespa within ZEPETO, reflecting high expectations.
