Kia unveiled its next-generation future electric vehicles leading the electrification era in the North American market. On the 16th, Kia showcased the concept cars EV3 and EV4 at the '2023 LA Auto Show' held at the LA Convention Center in California, USA.
The EV3 concept features a robust and geometrically harmonious body with a dynamic roofline silhouette. The core concept of the EV3 is 'Joy for Reason.'
The front end applies a clean and voluminous body surface along with a new EV Tiger Face. Futuristic Star Map signature lighting and vertical headlamps emphasizing the vehicle's width enhance the technical sophistication. The interior can be customized according to the user's preferences and lifestyle. Kia created a calm and open atmosphere with a door design that harmonizes clean surfaces with vertical and horizontal elements.
The EV4 concept was created under Kia's design philosophy 'Opposites United' with the theme 'Power to Progress,' representing the direction of Kia's next-generation electrified sedan.
The front presents a bold impression with a wide and confident stance emphasizing a low hood shape. Geometrically harmonious design elements and patterns, along with Star Map signature lighting, create a technically refined feel. The rear features an original roof spoiler shape and vertical tail lamps not seen in conventional sedans, emphasizing the wide width and clean surfaces of the tailgate.
Sustainability was also considered. Inspired by the element Earth, various interior colors were realized using 100% recycled cotton yarn dyed with natural dyes.
Meanwhile, at this event, Kia introduced 'The New Sorento' to the North American market for the first time. In North America, Kia plans to sell Sorento models with ▲2.5 gasoline ▲2.5 gasoline turbo ▲hybrid (HEV) ▲plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains starting in the first half of 2024.
Additionally, for consumers who enjoy outdoor life, Kia introduced the 'X-Pro' trim based on the Sorento. X-Pro is a trim that adds outdoor-specialized features to the existing X-Line.
