Employees from Dobong Post Office, KEPCO MCS Northern Branch, Dobong City Gas, apartment security guards, and others gathered in one place to raise a pledge for the practical discovery of welfare blind spots.
Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that on the 14th, it held the inauguration ceremony for Honorary Social Welfare Officers on the 2nd floor of Dobong-gu Office’s Seoninbong Hall to raise awareness and participation of all residents in discovering vulnerable households.
At the inauguration ceremony, over 400 Honorary Social Welfare Officers from various professions protecting Dobong-gu, including the Dong Community Security Council, neighborhood leaders, workers in daily life industries, Dobong Post Office, KEPCO MCS Northern Branch, Dobong City Gas, and apartment security guards, attended.
The ceremony began with an entrance performance by representatives of seven occupational groups, followed by the reading of the oath, awarding of appointment letters, chanting of the pledge, and a story magic show themed on welfare blind spots.
Especially at the end of the event, all attendees flew paper airplanes carrying their wishes for discovering vulnerable households, pledging their future activities.
Since the 8th local government administration, Dobong-gu has been appointing workers in visiting-type occupations as Honorary Social Welfare Officers to build a more thorough welfare safety net. Recently, workers from the Association of Licensed Real Estate Agents, post office, apartments, KEPCO MCS, Dobong City Gas, Small Business Association, and Dobong Residential Safety Comprehensive Center have been appointed as Honorary Social Welfare Officers. Currently, Dobong-gu has a total of 1,188 Honorary Social Welfare Officers.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “Honorary Social Welfare Officers are a reliable and valuable presence in the community who work alongside public officials, actively going out on the ground to fill welfare blind spots. We ask for even more active participation to establish a human safety net at the contact points with residents, and we will wholeheartedly support and back their activities.”
