LetsRun Park Busan Gyeongnam Participates in Winter Tree Dressing Event

Korea Racing Authority Let's Run Park Busan-Gyeongnam, together with the Busan Gangseo-gu Volunteer Center, will hold a tree-wrapping event on the 18th at Ullim Park in Myeongji-dong, Busan.


This program aims to promote a culture of tree care, raise public awareness about preventing pests and diseases on street trees during winter, and encourage the practice of carbon neutrality in daily life.


Following last year, the scale has been further expanded, and winter clothes will be put on 194 street trees at four locations including Ullim Park, Sinhyo Park, and Gangseo-gu Office.


On the day of the event, in addition to wrapping winter clothes on street trees, there will be a mini hose sensory experience, a volunteer activity photo exhibition, busking performances, carbon neutrality practice booths and performances, as well as a children's flea market.

The knitted clothes used in this event were made together by about 70 employees of the Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, volunteers from the Gangseo-gu Volunteer Center, and local knitting workshops since May.


The knitted clothes will keep the trees safe from pests and diseases and warm throughout the winter from November to February of the following year, and will be collected and washed at the end of February to be reused every winter.


A Korea Racing Authority official said, “We will carry out volunteer activities that contribute to the local community, such as protecting the local natural environment and supporting stray dog shelters, to create a better environment

and become a company that grows together with the local community.”
