At 12:33 PM on the 16th, an LPG gas cylinder exploded and caught fire at a commercial building in Namyang-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam.
According to Changwon Jungbu Police Station and Changwon Fire Headquarters, while removing the remaining gas from an LPG cylinder in a restaurant on the third floor of the building, the cylinder exploded, causing flames to erupt.
The fire was extinguished by responding firefighters around 12:40 PM, but the explosion caused windows to break, partition walls to collapse, and signs to fall, resulting in an estimated property damage of approximately 9 million KRW according to the fire department.
The store owner in his 60s suffered second-degree burns and was seriously injured, and four others, including customers in the adjacent store and pedestrians, sustained minor injuries after being trapped under the collapsed partition walls and signs, and were transported to the hospital.
