LG Receives Most Innovation Awards with 33... Expands webOS TV Platform
Samsung Electronics won three CES 2024 Best Innovation Awards at the world's largest electronics exhibition. LG Electronics received two. In terms of the number of awarded product items, LG Electronics led with 33, surpassing Samsung Electronics' 28. LG Electronics' 33 awards set a record for the most ever.
Both companies announced on the 16th that the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the U.S. announced on the 15th (local time) the CES 2024 Innovation Award-winning products and technologies, which will be showcased in Las Vegas, USA, in January next year.
Samsung Electronics received three Best Innovation Awards in the video display category. Products such as gaming TVs and smart home services won innovation awards. LG Electronics also received Best Innovation Awards for two products. The Best Innovation Award is given only to products or technologies recognized by the industry as the most innovative.

LG Electronics received more innovation awards than Samsung Electronics, with 33 awards. This surpassed last year's 28, marking LG Electronics' highest record ever. Products such as OLED TVs, monitors, washing machines, built-in appliances, robots, as well as content, received innovation awards.
In particular, LG OLED TVs have received innovation awards every year for 12 consecutive years since their launch in 2013. LG Electronics' smart TV operating system 'webOS' content also received four innovation awards across three categories. This recognition highlights innovation capabilities not only in TV products but also in platforms. The portable screen LG StanbyMe Go, used for enjoying content outdoors, also received innovation awards in two categories.

Samsung Electronics received 28 innovation awards: 14 in video display, 5 in mobile, and 8 in home appliances. In the home appliances category, AI technology-based SmartThings Energy and Samsung Food received awards. In the mobile category, the Galaxy Z Fold5 won two innovation awards. The Galaxy Watch6 series and Samsung Health also received innovation awards.
In the semiconductor category, the ultra-wideband (UWB) solution 'Exynos Connect U100' in the embedded technology field received an innovation award. This solution is embedded in mobile, automotive, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to enhance location accuracy.
CES Innovation Award-winning products can be seen at the CES event held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the U.S. from January 9 to 12 next year.
