'No Bedbugs Allowed'... Gyeonggi-do to Hold Expert Online Lecture on the 17th Gyeonggi Provincial Government

Gyeonggi Province is preparing an 'online special lecture' on bedbug control.

On the 16th, Gyeonggi Province announced that on the 17th, it will invite Professor Yang Young-cheol from Eulji University to conduct an online special lecture on bedbug control and prevention for bedbug control officers in the province.

In the lecture, Professor Yang Young-cheol will educate on the types and characteristics of bedbugs recently appearing in Korea, comprehensive control methods upon bedbug detection, and bedbug control methods through actual case studies.

The head of the Korea Pest Control Association Gyeonggi Branch will also participate in the lecture to share practical know-how that can be utilized in the field, such as bedbug habits and inspection points during on-site investigations.

Previously, Gyeonggi Province has been operating the 'Bedbug Countermeasures Headquarters,' composed of 13 departments including the Safety Management Office and the Health and Wellness Bureau, with the First Deputy Governor as the head, to control bedbugs. For four weeks until December 8, it will jointly inspect bedbug-vulnerable facilities such as lodging businesses, bathhouses, and goshiwons in the province with city and county governments.

Jang Woo-il, Director of the Disease Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through this training, we expect that our province's pest control officers will acquire effective response measures, and that rapid control activities by public health centers upon bedbug detection will provide residents with a safe and clean environment."
