"Now It's Time to Act"... Dongseo University Declares 8 Major Strategies for ESG Management

Dongseo University held an ESG Management Declaration Ceremony at 1 p.m. on the 15th in the on-campus Student Plaza.


In March, Dongseo University launched the ‘ESG Management Committee’ and has been developing a phased ESG management model unique to Dongseo University through consultations with internal committee members and external advisors.


Subsequently, under the catchphrase ‘Now (E) We Must Practice (S) ESG (G),’ the university established eight key ESG management strategies, which were officially announced by Kwak Junsik, Vice Chairman of the ESG Management Committee, at the declaration ceremony.


The eight strategies are composed of ▲Environment (E) sector: ‘Zero Campus with No Resource Waste’ and strengthening eco-friendly activities for a Green Campus ▲Social Responsibility (S) sector: ‘A Human Rights Campus Where Everyone Is Respected,’ ‘A Safe Campus Where Everyone Is Protected,’ and ‘A Win-Win Campus Where Everyone Grows’ ▲Governance (G) sector: ‘A Communication Campus with Participation from All Members,’ ‘A Fair Campus Practicing Ethical Management,’ and ‘An International Campus Cultivating Global ESG Leaders.’

The event was attended by Kim Jeongseon, Executive Vice President, along with members of the faculty association, staff association, and student council, who together read and proclaimed the ‘DSU ESG Management Declaration’ to reaffirm their commitment to practice.


Additionally, related events such as an ESG contest, ESG photo zone, and ESG flea market were held to encourage interest and participation among campus members.


President Jang Jeguk stated, “As a university representing the region, Dongseo University will actively promote ESG management to build an eco-friendly campus, fulfill social responsibilities, and create a sustainable university through ethical management.”
