The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is launching a comprehensive inspection of 'Good Price Businesses.'
On the 15th, Suwon City announced that it will verify the eligibility of existing Good Price Businesses by the 15th of next month, re-designate qualified businesses, and cancel the designation and retrieve certification plaques from ineligible businesses.
Good Price Businesses are establishments that contribute to stabilizing local prices by offering services at prices lower than the regional average. They are designated by local governments based on the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's standards, considering cleanliness, hygiene, quality, and service comprehensively.
Designation is made by comprehensively evaluating major product price levels, efforts to stabilize prices, cleanliness and hygiene management, and public interest, targeting the food service and personal service industries.
Separately, Suwon City is recruiting new Good Price Businesses until the 27th. Applicants can submit their business registration certificate and application form in person or by mail (including email) to the Regional Economy Division of Suwon City or the Economic and Transportation Divisions of each district.
Suwon City provides certification plaques and volume-based waste bags (quarterly) to Good Price Businesses. Starting this year, the support amount has been increased, and customized goods are provided after surveying the desired items in advance. Additionally, annual disinfection and pest control services are supported. Furthermore, businesses selected for the 'Small Business Management Environment Improvement Support Project' receive additional points, and local currency affiliated stores are supported with payment processing fees.
A Suwon City official stated, "Even amid the economic downturn caused by COVID-19, we will inspect Good Price Businesses that contribute to stabilizing local prices by offering affordable prices and excellent services, discover new businesses, and provide high-quality services to citizens and tourists."
