Gyeonggi Fire Department Prepares College Entrance Exam Measures on the 16th... 'Emergency Care for Examinees and Special Surveillance Duty' Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters

The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has established an emergency response system, including 119 ambulance measures and special patrol duties in crowded areas, in preparation for the ‘2024 College Scholastic Ability Test’ on the 16th.

The Fire and Disaster Headquarters plans to dispatch 119 ambulances immediately to transport emergency patients to hospitals if any emergencies occur on the way to the exam or at the test sites. Although individual transportation to the exam sites is the principle, ambulance transport support will be provided in unavoidable cases. The headquarters transported 12 people in 2021 (8 to hospitals, 1 late arrival, etc.) and 9 people in 2022 (4 to hospitals, 1 late arrival, etc.).

Additionally, on the exam day, sirens of fire trucks passing near the exam sites will be restrained during the Korean language and English listening test times.

The Fire and Disaster Headquarters will also conduct special patrol duties in crowded areas after the exam ends.

Mobile patrols will be strengthened targeting 58 expected crowded areas within the province, including around Suwon Station, where large crowds are anticipated.

Cho Sun-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "We will maintain an emergency response posture until the end of the CSAT to ensure that examinees can take the test safely and comfortably and prepare for any unforeseen incidents. We will especially do our best to prevent safety accidents in areas expected to be crowded."

Earlier, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters conducted an urgent fire safety inspection for three weeks from the 19th of last month to the 8th of this month at 338 exam sites in the province, checking fire facility management status, emergency exit closures and locking, and evacuation obstacles.

Meanwhile, 146,122 examinees will take the CSAT at 338 exam sites across 19 exam districts in the province.
