The film "Noryang: Sea of Death," which depicts the final story of the Admiral Yi Sun-sin trilogy, is set to be released on the 20th of next month, Lotte Entertainment and Ace Maker Movie Works announced on the 13th.
"Noryang: Sea of Death" portrays Admiral Yi Sun-sin's last battle to completely annihilate the Japanese forces retreating from Joseon after seven years since the outbreak of the Imjin War. The film shows the Japanese military camp determined to confront Admiral Yi even in a desperate situation, as well as the Ming navy's dilemma between practicality and loyalty, allowing viewers to gauge the state of Joseon before the Battle of Noryang.
Director Kim Han-min completed the Admiral Yi trilogy with "Myeongryang" (2014), "Hansan: Rising Dragon" (2022), and now "Noryang: Sea of Death."
Following actors Choi Min-sik and Park Hae-il, Kim Yoon-seok takes on the role of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. In "Noryang: Sea of Death," a wise General Yi Sun-sin is portrayed. Baek Yoon-sik plays the top Japanese commander Shimazu, Jung Jae-young portrays Ming navy commander Jin Lin, and Heo Jun-ho appears as Ming navy deputy commander Deng Zilong.
