The competition, open to university and graduate students nationwide, had the theme of 'Eco-friendly office buildings or interior design.' A total of 59 design boards, including perspective views and floor plans, were submitted, and 10 works that passed the preliminary screening advanced to the finals.
The grand prize was awarded to Donghee Lee and Jeongbin Park from Hongik University for their eco-friendly shared office building titled 'ROTATOR.' Their idea to realistically implement vertical green spaces between two building blocks to secure rest areas and wind corridors received high praise.
The Udeok Foundation awarded scholarships totaling 25 million KRW: 7 million KRW for the grand prize, 5 million KRW each for two teams receiving the excellence award, 2 million KRW each for three teams receiving the merit award, and 500,000 KRW each for four teams receiving the encouragement award.
The Udeok Foundation was established by Udeok Heo Chaekyung, the founder of Hanil Cement, in 1983 with the purpose of returning corporate profits to society and nurturing workers who will carry the nation's future.
