Hyundai Motor Company achieved its fourth victory of the year at the global top-tier touring car competition, the '2023 TCR World Tour,' held in Bathurst, Australia.
Hyundai announced on the 13th that the Elantra N TCR (domestic name Avante N TCR) won the second race of the TCR World Tour, held from the 10th to the 12th (local time) at the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit in Bathurst, Australia.
Norbert Michelisz, a driver for the BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse team competing with the Elantra N TCR race car, crossed the finish line first in the second final race held on the 12th. Michelisz accumulated a total of 56 points during the event, bringing his overall total to 383 points. He finished third in the driver standings, just one point behind the joint first place. Mikel Azcona, also competing with the same race car, maintained fourth place in the final rankings, proving the strong performance of the Elantra N TCR.
The top 15 drivers who have earned the most points over nine races will advance to the 'TCR World Final,' held at the end of this year or early next year, to determine the ultimate winner.

Til Vattenberg, Executive Director of Hyundai Motor Company’s N Brand & Motorsports Division, said, "Following the overall double victory in the 2022 WTCR, we are pleased to continue achieving strong results in the 2023 TCR World Tour. We hope to achieve good results in the remaining races of the season and contribute to promoting the excellence of the Elantra N TCR race car and the N Brand."
The newly launched TCR World Tour this year succeeds the 'WTCR (World Touring Car Cup),' which ended in 2022. It is the global top-level championship of the TCR series, held by touring various TCR regional competitions worldwide.
Direct participation by manufacturers is prohibited, and professional racing teams that purchase manufacturer race cars compete in 'Customer Racing.' One race remains in Macau. The next race is scheduled to be held at the 'Kia Circuit' in Macau from the 16th to the 19th.
