On the 15th, Pohang Technopark Hosts 'Strategic Crop Development Symposium'
Pohang City will host a "Symposium on Strategic Crop Development for Climate Change Response" on the 15th at Pohang Technopark, inviting related experts.
Climate change is affecting all ecosystems, but it is especially causing a crisis in crop production, thereby threatening the overall food security of society. This symposium has been organized to gather wisdom on turning this crisis into an opportunity by listening to experts and voices from the agricultural field.
Under the theme of "Building an Ecological System for Strategic Crops for Sustainable Future Agriculture," the symposium will begin with a keynote speech by Kim Chang-gil, Chair of the Rural Subcommittee of the Presidential Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Policy, followed by presentations from domestic research institutions, case studies on alternative crop development from advanced farms, and a panel discussion.
An official from the city stated, "We hope many interested individuals will attend to explore development directions for fostering strategic crops suitable for the region and to discover new paths for local agriculture."
