Move-in for Daejeon youth housing ‘Dagaon’ is scheduled to proceed sequentially starting early next year.
Daejeon City announced on the 10th that it has secured a total of 32.5 billion KRW in national funds, including 9.75 billion KRW in national funds for next year, to be invested in the construction costs of the youth housing currently under construction.
With all the national funds secured, Daejeon City expects that the completion and move-in of the youth housing next year will proceed smoothly.

The Daejeon-type youth housing currently under construction consists of a total of 824 units across three locations: 425 units in Guam-dong, 237 units in Sintanjin-dong, and 162 units in Nangwol-dong. The total project cost for the youth housing construction is 165.7 billion KRW, and the buildings will be completed sequentially starting early next year, with move-in to follow.
The completion schedule for each youth housing next year is planned as follows: Guam Dagaon in February, Sintanjin Dagaon in June, and Nangwol Dagaon in November. Daejeon City plans to start recruiting tenants for Guam Dagaon from next month, and many young people have already shown interest in moving into Guam Dagaon.
Constructed youth housing such as Guam Dagaon offers housing for young people, newlyweds, and other early-career individuals at rents 60% to 80% lower than surrounding market prices. The units are built in five types ranging from 21㎡ to 54㎡ in exclusive area.
In particular, the youth housing is equipped with built-in appliances and furniture such as air conditioners, washing machines, and desks, and features specialized community spaces.
In addition to the constructed youth housing, Daejeon City is also planning a schedule for move-in early next year for 150 youth purchase-rental housing units that it is currently acquiring. Including these, the total number of youth housing units to be supplied in Daejeon next year through construction and acquisition is expected to reach 974 units.

Meanwhile, Daejeon City has established and is promoting a plan to directly construct or acquire and supply 2,975 youth housing units by 2030.
