Through this business agreement, the corporation plans to connect the airport with the urban air mobility system and support safety management of the airspace around the airport, based on uninterrupted operation of navigation facilities established since the airport opened in 2001 and its world-class airport service capabilities.

Additionally, it will develop optimal UAM airport shuttle routes and strengthen cooperative relationships with UAM-related organizations such as Incheon City to increase public acceptance.

Incheon City and Gwangmyeong City will support institutional improvements necessary for airspace system analysis and management, as well as urban planning. Korea Expressway Corporation and Incheon Port Authority will introduce UAM systems to roads and ports and review various routes connecting urban areas, roads, ports, and airports.

President Lee said, “Based on this agreement, we expect that UAM airport shuttle routes connecting urban areas and the airport will be reviewed from multiple perspectives,” and added, “Incheon International Airport Corporation will continue to actively strive for the successful realization of Korea-style Urban Air Mobility (K-UAM) based on active cooperation with related organizations.”
