Dong-Eui University LINC3.0 Project Group Cultivates Convergence Talents Tailored to New Industry Demands

Education Only Delivering Knowledge and Information is Over!

Application of 'Collabo X-Face' Professor Model

"The era of teaching only knowledge and majors is over!"

Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan) LINC 3.0 Project Group (Director Lee Imgeon) announced that this year they have newly established an industry-academia-research linked co-teaching course system and are operating seven courses.

Industry experts and subject professors jointly conduct classes to provide field-oriented education.

Currently, Dong-Eui University has seven subjects including Precision Measurement and Practice, Cornerstone Design, Building Regulations, Communication and Gender, Understanding the Global Hotel Industry, Architectural Design VI, and Microprocessor Applications and Practice II, with 1 to 3 industry experts participating per subject.

This is a teaching model that expands Dong-Eui University's collaboration education philosophy, called the so-called "Collabo X-Face." The ideal talent at Dong-Eui University is a "collaborative talent forming a forest together." The goal is not simply to educate knowledge and major competencies, but to nurture integrative talents equipped with character, basic literacy, creativity, and thinking skills.

Collabo X-Face is an educational model that combines collaboration in educational content, educational agents, and educational methods with industry-academia-research linked teaching methods. Through this, it aims for collaboration among teaching and learning communities (instructors, learners, industry-academia joint supervising professors, field supervising professors), educational methods (lectures, discussions, PBL, capstone design, flipped learning, action learning, field expert team teaching, mentoring), and educational content (major knowledge and field problems, industry practical skills, project planning and operation management) to align with the direction of industry-academia-research linked education.

Lee Imgeon, director of Dong-Eui University LINC 3.0 Project Group, explained, "Our university's industry-academia-research linked education is systematized into basic, advanced, and applied stages," adding, "Through a process that progresses from theory and discussion-centered practical knowledge acquisition to laboratory practice, projects, capstone design, and field training, we cultivate talents adaptable to the field."

Additionally, Dong-Eui University is focusing on developing new global capstone design courses to enhance students' global problem-solving capabilities and to build a foundation for expanding mutual exchanges.

They are also developing and organizing new courses in data science, entrepreneurship, and patent fields that are directly linked to employment and start-ups, supporting students to simultaneously acquire credits, DSAC, and intellectual property certificates.

Alongside courses, non-curricular programs such as the "4th Industrial Revolution Online Relay Special Lectures," focusing on enhancing academic convergence capabilities, and the "New Technology Field Teaching Method Course," aimed at developing innovative industry-academia-research linked teaching methods, are being operated.
