Kim Gilsu, who was caught after escaping custody at a detention center, has been additionally accused of a jeonse fraud, raising the likelihood that his escape was a 'planned escape.'

Kim Gilsu claimed that his escape was impulsive and that he had no accomplices, but the 10th was the day he was supposed to receive the remaining payment from a tenant. Professor Oh Yoonseong of Soonchunhyang University's Department of Police Administration analyzed that Kim swallowing a piece of a plastic spoon and receiving hospital treatment might have been an attempt to get outside the detention center to escape.

Previously, Kim Gilsu, who was detained at Seoul Detention Center on the 2nd on charges of special robbery, escaped on the 4th while receiving hospital treatment. To avoid being tracked, Kim bought clothes at a bus terminal shopping area to change into and hid by sleeping rough, but on the afternoon of the 6th, the third day of his escape, he was caught by the police after contacting a female acquaintance using a public phone in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province.

Kim Gil-su, who was imprisoned at Seoul Detention Center on charges of aggravated robbery and escaped while receiving hospital treatment, was apprehended on the afternoon of the 6th and is being transferred to Anyang Dongan Police Station in Gyeonggi Province.

Kim Gilsu, who was caught, stated that his escape was impulsive and that he had no accomplices. However, the police believe that Kim's escape was planned.

Since Kim was scheduled to receive 150 million won on the 10th, it is believed that he intended to use this money for lawyer fees or escape funds. This amount was the remaining payment he was supposed to receive from a new tenant of a house he owned.

Currently, Kim Gilsu is under police investigation for fraud charges. The Jungnang Police Station in Seoul recognized in early June that Kim had not returned approximately 300 million won of jeonse deposit for a villa in Sangdo-dong, Dongjak-gu, registered under his name, and is investigating the matter. The Geumcheon Police Station also received a complaint on the 7th stating that Kim had not returned a jeonse deposit of 250 million won.

In an interview with YTN's 'News Rider' on the 9th, Professor Oh Yoonseong said, "Kim Gilsu claims that his escape was impulsive, but the fact that he swallowed a piece of a plastic spoon and complained of abdominal pain means he intended to get outside for hospital treatment."

He added, "The scheduled date to receive the remaining 150 million won is tomorrow (the 10th). In Kim's mind, the money must have been tempting. If he wasn't caught, he could have received 150 million won on the 10th, so the police currently judge that there is a sufficient motive related to his escape."
