Gwangju Buk-gu Selects 5 Outstanding Cases of Proactive Administration

Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced excellent cases of proactive administration that promoted residents' convenience through creative and active efforts.

According to Buk-gu on the 9th, after the review by the Buk-gu internal evaluation team’s proactive administration committee last October, five outstanding cases of proactive administration with visible achievements were selected among the major policy cases promoted by Buk-gu from April to September this year, focusing on administrative innovation and discovering projects that residents can directly experience.

The selection of excellent cases of proactive administration in Buk-gu has been conducted twice a year since 2020 to discover cases where Buk-gu public officials actively promoted their work based on expertise to create public benefits and to spread and expand these cases nationwide.

Among the selected excellent cases this time, the grand prize was awarded to the 'Gwang Fusion Trade Promotion Group,' which led a $1.7 million export contract with Vietnam and the Philippines for the first time among autonomous districts in Gwangju. The excellence awards went to the 'Sandonggyo Waterside Park Outdoor Water Playground Free Operation,' which launched the fun summer city signal, and the 'Youth Drone Sports Competition,' held on a national scale for the first time in Gwangju and Jeonnam.

Additionally, the 'Buk-gu Art Festival Meet&Play,' a design exhibition held in connection with the Gwangju Design Biennale, and the 'Women’s Safe Village' project, promoted as part of the women-friendly city policy, were named as encouragement awards.

Buk-gu plans to widely promote these excellent cases and provide various incentives to the responsible public officials to secure the implementation of proactive administration by employees and to continuously spread a culture of proactive administration within the organization.
