Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, held the 'Day to Eat Garaetteok Made from Our Rice' event at 8 a.m. on the 9th in the lobby on the first floor of the district office.
This event was organized to commemorate the 28th Farmers' Day (November 11) and to reflect on the hard work of farmers throughout the year while promoting the consumption of domestic rice.
The district shared garaetteok made from newly harvested rice grown locally with employees on their way to work, raising awareness of the excellence of Korean rice and encouraging participation in the consumption of local agricultural products.
An official from the district said, "Rather than celebrating commercial holidays on November 11, we hope a culture of sharing garaetteok to express gratitude to farmers will take root," adding, "We will continue to promote various projects to raise awareness of the importance of our agricultural products and to boost their consumption."
