Lee Sang-ik, former mayor of Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is making a final all-out effort to secure additional national budget for next year.
According to the county on the 9th, Mayor Lee visited the National Assembly, which is reviewing next year's budget proposal, and met with members of the National Assembly to request maximum support for the inclusion of national funds for local pending projects.

Mayor Lee held meetings with Seo Sam-seok, chairman of the National Assembly Budget Special Committee, National Assembly members Kim Gyo-heung, Kang Hoon-sik, and Lee Gae-ho, urging full government budget support for the smooth implementation of next year's local pending projects directly related to the lives of county residents.
In particular, he explained the necessity and validity regarding the key projects for securing the national budget.
Among them, he actively emphasized the need for phased national funding for national projects aimed at residents' convenience.
The major pending projects proposed by Mayor Lee on this day include ▲ Hampyeong Public Sewage Treatment Area Sewer Pipeline Maintenance Project (Phase 2) (25.4 billion KRW) ▲ Singwang Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project (25.1 billion KRW) ▲ Jupo Port Fishing Village New Vitality Promotion Project (public contest) (10 billion KRW) ▲ Construction of Traffic Safety Training Institute and Education Center (45 billion KRW), totaling six projects with a total project cost of 65.7 billion KRW, of which 10.7 billion KRW is requested for the 2024 budget.
Mayor Lee Sang-ik said, “Although securing next year’s government budget is not easy due to the government’s fiscal austerity policy, we will make every effort in various ways to have as many necessary projects for the development of our county reflected as possible. Until the budget for next year is finalized, we will not relax our vigilance and will focus the county administration’s capabilities to secure the maximum national funds.”
