"Protecting Citizens' Lives" ... Changwon Special City Holds 61st Firefighting Day Event Changwon Special City held a Firefighters' Day commemorative ceremony on the 9th.

The ceremony began with a Firefighters' Day video showcasing the firefighters' efforts, followed by the awarding of certificates of merit to 45 individuals who devotedly contributed to safety this year, along with commemorative and congratulatory speeches.

In particular, this day included a time to award certificates of merit to citizens who, though not firefighters, made significant contributions to protecting the lives and property of the public. The event, which allowed citizens and firefighters to come together, received special attention.

Firefighters' Day was established on November 9, symbolizing 119, by revising the Fire Services Act in 1991 to protect the lives and property of the people from fire.

The city holds this event annually to encourage firefighters and to wish for Changwon Fire to stand as a pillar of citizen safety.

Deputy Mayor Jo said, “It is because there are firefighters who rush to the call of citizens at disaster sites that we can create a safe Changwon City. I sincerely thank them for their mission, dedication, and sacrifice in protecting the citizens.”
