Pyeongtaek City implemented an export support project this year for the first time to help local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) develop overseas markets. To this end, they promoted the 'Export Capacity Enhancement Support Project,' which includes one-on-one consultations with export experts for overseas marketing and support for producing export samples, and supported discovering business partners through one-on-one consultations with local buyers via the overseas market development team.
In particular, the city supported the market development team by providing local market research, arranging one-on-one consultations with buyers, and interpretation services.
The city explained that through the dispatch of the market development team, three business agreements were signed, and Vietnamese and Thai buyers are scheduled to visit Korea soon for follow-up consultations, expecting export results exceeding 380,000 USD in total.
A Pyeongtaek City official said, "We will continue to discover and support new promising export companies," adding, "We will intensify support for companies so that businesses in Hwaseong City can compete in the international market."
Pyeongtaek City plans to operate the market development team again next year after selecting desired dispatch regions through surveys of corporate demand.
