Yongin Severance Wins 'World Grand Prix' at DX Service Awards

Yonsei University College of Medicine Yongin Severance Hospital announced on the 9th that it has won the World Grand Prix in the general hospital category for two consecutive years at the '2023 DX Service Awards' hosted by the Korea Standards Association and the Korean Society for Service Management. This marks the third consecutive year of winning.

The DX Service Awards recognize and reward institutions that integrate information and communication technology (ICT) into overall service management, achieve rapid digital transformation, and create new customer value. Yongin Severance Hospital underwent an on-site evaluation on the 12th of last month with three experts in attendance. The evaluation criteria included leadership and strategy, digital customer experience and service, infrastructure and technology, human resources, process innovation, and innovation performance.

Hospital Director Kim Eun-kyung attended the awards ceremony held on the 8th at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul, and received the plaque.

This award is significant as it acknowledges the excellence of digital innovation and systematic development according to the mid- to long-term development roadmap.

Since its opening, Yongin Severance Hospital has established an innovative digital environment based on the nation's first 5G in-building communication network. In particular, it operates various intelligent digital solutions based on 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), such as the Integrated Response Situation Room (IRS) and Real-Time Location Tracking System (RTLS), positioning itself as a standard for smart hospitals.

According to the evaluation results, Yongin Severance Hospital received high marks for pursuing convenience and work efficiency for medical staff through newly initiated projects and the advancement of existing operations.

Hospital Director Kim Eun-kyung expressed, “We are pleased that the efforts and values of our faculty and staff toward digital innovation have been recognized through this award,” adding, “We will strive to become Yongin Severance Hospital that presents an even newer image as time goes by.”
