'Escape During Hospital Treatment' Kim Gilsu Arrested in Uijeongbu (Update)

Kim Gilsu (36), who was detained at Seoul Detention Center on charges of special assault and escaped while receiving hospital treatment, was apprehended on the afternoon of the third day of his escape, the 6th.

The police arrested Kim around 9:20 PM that day on the street in Ganeung-dong, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi Province. Kim was transported to the Uijeongbu Police Station for investigation and is scheduled to be handed over to Seoul Detention Center.

On the morning of the 4th at around 6:20 AM, Kim escaped by changing clothes and taking a taxi while receiving treatment at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, after briefly removing his protective equipment under the pretext of using the restroom.

Afterward, Kim got off at Uijeongbu Station in Uijeongbu-si, wandered around the northern Gyeonggi area, entered Seoul, and used the subway at Nowon Station to move to Ttukseom Resort Station at 6:30 PM on the same day. He was last seen at the Express Bus Terminal at 9 PM that day, after which his whereabouts were unknown.
