Ministry of Justice Increases Kim Gilsu's Reward to 10 Million Won

The Ministry of Justice has increased the reward for Kim Gilsu (35), who escaped after being transferred from Seoul Detention Center to a hospital for treatment, from 5 million won to 10 million won.

On the 6th, the Ministry of Justice distributed the third wanted poster, which included the increased reward of 10 million won and additional photos of Kim.

Kim, who was arrested by the Seocho Police Station in Seoul on the 30th of last month on charges of special robbery, was detained on the 1st after refusing to appear for the warrant hearing, and was placed in Seoul Detention Center the following day.

While in the police station detention center, Kim reportedly swallowed the handle of a spoon and complained of abdominal pain. On the day of his detention, at around 8:30 p.m. on the 2nd, he was transferred to Hallym University Hospital in Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi Province for treatment. Then, at around 6:20 a.m. on the 4th, he used the excuse of using the restroom to have his protective equipment temporarily removed, changed clothes, and escaped.

After leaving the hospital, Kim immediately took a taxi to Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi Province, met a female acquaintance, and then around 8 a.m., took another taxi to Yangju-si where he met his younger brother.

Afterwards, Kim visited a sauna near Changdong Station in Dobong-gu, Seoul. Around 12:30 p.m., he moved to Danggogae Station in Seoul and ate noodles at a restaurant near the station. Since then, his whereabouts have not been confirmed.

The Ministry of Justice, which had previously released photos of Kim wearing blue top and bottom clothing captured on CCTV on the 4th, added photos of Kim wearing beige top and bottom clothing the day before and set a reward of 5 million won.
