"Short Hair Means Feminist... Must Be Beaten"
Police Apply for Arrest Warrant on Charges of Special Injury and Property Damage
A man in his 20s who indiscriminately assaulted a convenience store part-time female worker, questioning why her hair was short, was arrested by the police.
On the 5th, the Jinju Police Station in Gyeongnam applied for an arrest warrant for a man in his 20s, Mr. A, on charges of special assault and property damage.
Mr. A is accused of assaulting Ms. B, a woman in her 20s working part-time at a convenience store in Hadae-dong, Jinju, around 12:10 a.m. on the 4th, by punching and kicking her.
He also assaulted Mr. C, a customer in his 50s who tried to stop the assault, multiple times and struck him using a chair that was in the store. It was reported that Mr. A was intoxicated at the time.

As a result of Mr. A’s attack, Ms. B suffered a sprain, ligament damage, and injuries to her ear area. Mr. C, who tried to intervene, sustained fractures to his shoulder, forehead, and nose.
Mr. A was caught in the act and arrested by the police who responded to the report.
During the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A made remarks to Ms. B such as, "Since you are a woman with short hair, you must be a feminist," and "I am part of a men's solidarity group, and feminists need to be beaten a little."
The police stated, "The victims’ injuries are severe, so a complete investigation has not yet been conducted," and added, "We plan to conduct a more detailed investigation once the victims have recovered."
