Gwangyang Bonggang 'Baegunje & Byeolbam Festival' Held

A Gathering Place for Local Residents and Returning Farmers to Communicate and Unite

The 10th Byeolbam Concert (Mountain Temple Music Festival) 「Bonggang-myeon Baegunje & Byeolbam Festival」 will be held on the 4th (Saturday) from 4 PM at the Bibong Welfare Center area in Bonggang-myeon, Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do.


Hosted by Jeollanam-do and Gwangyang-si and organized by the Bonggang-myeon Youth Association, this event will begin with a pre-performance featuring Samulnori by Bonggang Elementary School students and a Korean traditional music prodigy, Lee Su-a. It will continue with Zumba dance by Bonggang-myeon residents and guitar performances, among others.

Additionally, the event will attract visitors with a direct agricultural products market, a telescope and calligraphy experience zone, and a food sharing area.


In particular, to ensure the event concludes successfully, related organizations such as the Bonggang-myeon Office, Gwangyang City Health Center, Gwangyang 119 Safety Center, and Bonggang Police Center, along with local community groups including the Village Leaders' Council, Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit, Volunteer Fire Brigade, and Saemaeul Women's Association, are proactively cooperating to thoroughly prepare for safety measures including traffic, parking, fire, facilities, and crowd order maintenance.


Oh Se-pyo, president of the Bonggang-myeon Youth Association, stated, “Local residents and returnees to farming and rural areas can communicate and connect through this gathering place. Local community groups have joined forces to prepare a rich event. We are preparing the event with health and safety as the top priority, so we hope many people will come.”


Lee Mi-young, head of Bonggang-myeon, said, “The 10th Byeolbam Concert is an opportunity for local residents to enjoy culture and arts and a place for harmony. We hope families and friends will come and enjoy the deepening autumn atmosphere together.”
