The prosecution stated in the indictment, "On January 21, Yoo Ah-in sat around an outdoor table with his group and smoked marijuana wrapped in cigarette paper."

While smoking marijuana with acquaintances A and B at a swimming pool, Yoo Ah-in was caught smoking by another group member, YouTuber C, who had come to film a YouTube video. The prosecution's indictment notes that Yoo Ah-in irritably told his group, "Why should I have my free time disturbed because of a YouTuber?"

The prosecution also specified that Yoo Ah-in, fearing adverse effects on his image and reputation as a celebrity, decided to involve the YouTuber in marijuana smoking to make him an 'accomplice' and thus prevent the fact of his marijuana use from leaking to the outside. Specifically, he encouraged C by saying things like, "It's time for you to try it too," and "Smoke it deeper."

Additionally, in early August of this year during the investigation, it was confirmed that Yoo Ah-in sent threatening messages to a person who was also under police investigation, urging them to retract their statement by saying, "Even if you are cleared, after the case ends, the police or prosecution might disclose your statement details to reporters at their discretion."
