1020 Trendy Characters Gathered for Pepero Day Event
Last Year's Character Collaboration Boosted Pepero Sales by 50%

Convenience store Seven Eleven is targeting Pepero Day with popular characters favored by the Jalpa Generation (Generation Z + Alpha Generation).
Seven Eleven announced on the 2nd that it will launch various character collaboration products featuring Sanrio Characters, Menjakgui, Doraemon, and more, which are highly loved by the 10s and 20s age group, in celebration of Pepero Day.
According to Seven Eleven, sales during last year's Pepero Day season increased by 50% compared to the previous year. Especially this year, sales of Sanrio Characters carriers on Valentine's Day and White Day grew by 350% and 150% respectively compared to last year's Pepero Day, so this year, in addition to Pepero, character goods products have been expanded to various product categories such as stationery and living goods.
Seven Eleven is offering a total of 110 products for this Pepero Day. The representative exclusive planned product is the Menjakgui series. Menjakgui is an abbreviation of 'Meonga (something) small and cute guy,' consisting of animal-type characters such as the main character Chiikawa, Garma, and Rabbit. It was a mega-hit character in Japan last year and is also popular domestically, with 'open runs' occurring when pop-up stores open. Seven Eleven will separately sell 8 types of Pepero products using Menjakgui characters along with a Menjakgui custom sticker set that stimulates the collecting desire of 'Dakku-jok' (diary decorating enthusiasts).
They are also collaborating with Sanrio Characters, a hot character among the Jalpa Generation. According to the official Sanrio Characters website in 2023, the most popular character in Korea is Cinnamoroll. Accordingly, a large number of Cinnamoroll-related products were released for this Pepero Day. Representative items include the 'Cinnamoroll Multi-purpose Bath Basket,' which is highly useful as a bathroom or organizing basket, the 'Cinnamoroll Dessert Plate Set,' perfect for dessert photo shoots, the 'Cinnamoroll Mini Tray,' and the 'Cinnamoroll Coaster.'
They also launched unique character products of 'Doraemon,' a character loved across all generations. Adding character goods that stimulate collecting desires such as 'Doraemon Eco Bag,' 'Doraemon Note Case,' and 'Doraemon Grip Tok Set' strengthened the competitiveness of Pepero products.
Seven Eleven is also running promotions and events to celebrate Pepero Day. Until the 10th, customers using Woori Card can purchase about 30 types of Pepero products and Ferrero Rocher chocolates at a 20% discounted price. Until the 11th, customers who purchase Pepero products worth more than 10,000 won can buy a shopping bag featuring Sanrio Characters artwork (art source exclusively created for the brand) for 1,000 won.
On Pepero Day, customers who purchase Pepero products through the Seven Eleven mobile application (Seven App) can participate in a roulette event. A total of 3,600 winners from 1st to 4th place will receive Pepero and Ferrero Rocher chocolates according to their ranking.
