Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk is operating the train travel program ‘Nongttureil’ to allow visitors to fully enjoy the beautiful autumn atmosphere of Naejangsan during the peak foliage season.
According to the city on the 1st, ‘Nongttureil’ is a program jointly developed by the Rural Development Administration, Korea Railroad Corporation, and local governments to promote rural experiential tourism. The name combines words associated with rural areas and railroads such as nonttureong (rice paddy ridge), dure (a cooperative labor group), and rail, symbolizing the ‘connection between rural areas and railroads.’

The city has designed a travel course that satisfies all five senses, including experiencing local rural culture, enjoying the beauty of autumn at Naejangsan, making aloe moisturizer, and touring Ssanghwacha Street, one of Jeongeup’s nine scenic spots.
Applications can be made on the ‘Let’s Korail’ website until the 17th, and the price is 63,300 KRW based on departure from Yongsan Station.
A city official said, “We have prepared a train travel program linking Naejangsan and rural experiences by leveraging Jeongeup’s advantage of good railroad accessibility. We hope many tourists visit Jeongeup to feel the autumn atmosphere.”
