Gokseong-gun 'How About Gokseong When Traveling' Tourism Incentive Support

Temporary Relaxation of Support Conditions to Revitalize Winter Tourism

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-cheol) announced that it has been working hard to attract winter tourists by temporarily easing the conditions of the tourism incentive project from the 30th until the end of the year to revitalize winter tourism.

The Gokseong tourism incentive support project called "How about Gokseong when you travel" provides attractive options for tourists by supporting experience product fees, accommodation fees, and bus rental fees.

This project started in March this year, but previously, tourists had to have two meals in Gokseong during their trip to receive the incentive benefits. This condition excluded short-term stay tourists from receiving support.

Accordingly, Gokseong-gun relaxed this condition to one meal per day of travel, making it easier for day-trippers to receive incentives. In addition, tourists can receive support if they visit the Seomjingang Train Village once during their trip and use Gokseong's experience programs such as rail bikes and steam locomotives twice.

The incentive supports 50% of the experience product fees, providing benefits of up to 50,000 KRW per person per day.

Accommodation fees are supported up to 30,000 KRW per room per day, and bus rental fees are supported up to 300,000 KRW per bus per day.

Moreover, the tourism incentives are given not only to individual tourists but also to travel agencies that recruit group tourists and rural experience villages.

A Gokseong-gun official said, "As the support conditions have been greatly eased, we expect positive responses from tourists. Through this, we hope to attract tourists even during the winter low season and greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
