Trailer and Truck Collision on Namhae Expressway... Severe Traffic Congestion at One Point

At around 2:10 a.m. on the 31st, a trailer collided with a 25-ton wing body truck ahead of it on the Namhae Expressway near Chilwon Junction in Chilwon-eup, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, causing severe traffic congestion for a time.

According to Gyeongnam Province and the police, no injuries were reported in the accident, but the trailer's braking system locked, causing the vehicle to stop while occupying one of the two lanes.

Since all the vehicles involved were large, it took considerable time to tow them, but the congestion was cleared around 7:42 a.m. when the towing was completed.

Earlier, Gyeongnam Province sent a safety advisory message at around 6:40 a.m., stating, "Severe traffic congestion due to a traffic accident near Chilwon Junction to Haman 1 Tunnel on the Namhae Expressway (toward Suncheon direction). Please take detours via national roads."

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident by questioning the drivers of both vehicles and others involved.
