Cleaning and Safety Inspection of Water Tanks at 9 Locations Including Baesuji
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) will conduct environmental maintenance and regular safety inspections of water supply reservoirs for two months starting from the 1st of next month to provide clean and safe tap water to residents.
According to the county on the 31st, water supply reservoirs are facilities installed to maintain a certain quantity and water pressure of tap water that has passed through water purification plants and supply it stably. Muan-gun manages nine such reservoirs, including the Muan Reservoir.
The county plans to perform environmental maintenance on the nine reservoirs by removing internal water stains and sediment from the bottom of the storage tanks and inspecting the facilities inside the reservoirs. To minimize inconvenience to residents caused by cleaning, inspections will be conducted sequentially by reservoir to ensure no water outages.
Additionally, the county will check for leaks, defects, and cracks in the reservoir facilities, as well as the protection status of surrounding retaining walls and slopes. Immediate repairs will be carried out on facilities requiring urgent maintenance to prevent inconvenience to residents.
Governor Kim San stated, “We conduct cleaning and safety inspections of the reservoirs twice a year, in the first and second halves, to maintain cleanliness and prevent safety accidents. We will continue to devote all efforts to managing water facilities to provide clean and safe tap water.”
