Bucheon City, 3rd Re-certification as a Fair Trade City... "Confirming Leading Status as a Fair Trade City"

Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province has received the third re-certification as a Fair Trade City, continuing its status as the top Fair Trade City nationwide.

The city announced on the 30th that it received the third re-certification plaque and certificate at the opening ceremony of the "2023 Gyeonggi-do Fair Trade FortNight" held at the Suwon Convention Center on the 27th.

Since achieving the second re-certification in 2021, Bucheon has increased youth interest and participation in fair trade by operating a university student supporter program, running fair trade classes visiting elementary, middle, and high schools, and discovering and promoting sales outlets through site visits, earning high evaluations and achieving the third re-certification as a Fair Trade City.

Notably, at the event, the local children's center "Dokkaebi," affiliated with the Bucheon Citizens' Union, was certified for the first time as a fair trade practice institution, and university students Kim Hyung-bin and Kwak Chae-bin from Yuhan University, active as the third generation of university student supporters, participated as youth representatives in the fair trade practice declaration and opening performance, elevating the status of Bucheon's fair trade university student supporters.
