ResearchAlum predicted on the 30th that companies such as Intops, OpenEdge Technology, and ModelSolution would benefit following OpenAI's release of 'GPT-4V' on the 25th of last month. GPT-4V is an LMM (Large Multimodal Model) service that allows users to upload images and ask questions about those images.

Researcher Choi Seonghwan from ResearchAlum explained, "The development speed of ChatGPT is astonishing," adding, "While the existing ChatGPT only accepts text input, GPT-4V allows image input as well."

He continued, "Limited use is possible in the default mode of GPT-4V, and experiments on how GPT-4V can be utilized are being shared through YouTube and academic papers," adding, "I wrote Python code for app development using a very simple image drawn with a pen on a notebook."

Researcher Choi analyzed, "AI has crossed a critical threshold," and "It is developing at a speed incomparable to the past." He further emphasized, "Even if we cannot be certain about the future, at least an understanding of technologies already realized, such as GPT-4V, is necessary," and stressed, "Whether we want it or not, AI technology will bring many changes to our daily lives going forward."

He predicted, "As the AI ecosystem is established, robots will be one of the tools connecting AI and the real world," and forecasted, "Companies with strengths in manufacturing, like Intops, will experience significant benefits."

Since 2021, Intops has been exclusively producing serving robots for Bear Robotics. It was also reported that in March of this year, they completed preparations for mass production of wearable robots for a major domestic corporation.

Researcher Choi analyzed, "Applications such as robots equipped with AI like GPT will require high-speed computing capabilities," and expressed expectations for "diversification of application areas for OpenEdge Technology's NPU technology." Additionally, he analyzed, "As highly advanced generative AI technology is applied in industry, product design costs will decrease and the pace of change will accelerate," and predicted, "ModelSolution's role in the AI ecosystem will grow to respond to personalized design."
