Dobong-gu Urban Public Housing Complex Project 'Accelerates'... 'Banghak Station and Ssangmun Station East Side' Pass Integrated Review Perspective view of Banghak Station urban public housing

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that the area east of Banghak Station and Ssangmun Station, a leading district for the urban public housing complex project in Seoul, has passed the first integrated public housing review by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

There are a total of six leading districts for urban public housing complex projects in Seoul, three of which are being carried out in Dobong-gu. It is expected that housing supply will be revitalized with a total of 2,487 households to be supplied in the future.

After the Korea Land and Housing Corporation applied for approval of the complex project plan for the east side of Banghak Station and Ssangmun Station to Seoul in July, the district submitted a review opinion to ensure a convenient living environment for both residents and local communities through consultations with related departments, leading to the approval of this review.

Both the east sides of Banghak Station and Ssangmun Station, which passed the integrated review, are located within a 10-minute walk (within 350m) of subway stations. The district plans to utilize the advantage of the transportation environment by creating open spaces at major intersections to provide open areas and contribute to the activation of local streets.

The complex project area near Banghak Station on Line 1 will include 420 apartment units (263 public sale, 84 profit-sharing, 73 public rental) with a floor area ratio of up to 600%, and buildings ranging from 5 basement floors to 39 above-ground floors, along with neighborhood living facilities and ancillary welfare facilities.

The complex project area on the east side of Ssangmun Station on Line 4 will have 639 apartment units (402 public sale, 128 profit-sharing, 109 public rental) with a floor area ratio of up to 500%, and buildings ranging from 4 basement floors to 39 above-ground floors. Notably, the area of the children's park has been expanded by 492.1㎡ compared to the original plan.

After reviewing and reflecting the results of this integrated public housing review, if the complex project plan is approved within this year, construction is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2026 and be completed by 2029.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “As urban public housing complex projects such as high-density development near stations are in full swing, we expect great help in improving the residential environment and regional development,” and added, “We will support the project with administrative assistance to ensure it proceeds quickly and smoothly.”

Meanwhile, the district plans to submit the complex project area on the west side of Ssangmun Station to the Public Housing Integrated Review Committee in the first half of next year. The plan includes constructing apartment buildings with a floor area ratio of up to 450%, ranging from 4 basement floors to 45 above-ground floors.
