"Can Be Bent into Various Shapes and Worn Like a Bracelet"

A Chinese electronics manufacturer unveiled a bendable smartphone that can be curved like a bracelet and worn around the wrist.

On the 24th (local time), Chinese electronics manufacturer Lenovo revealed new technologies and products from itself and its affiliates at the 'Lenovo Tech World 23' event. Among them, the standout was Motorola's latest bendable smartphone.

At the event, Lexi Balasek from Motorola's Technology Innovation Research Team personally took the stage holding the product. Previously, Lenovo had also unveiled a bendable phone in 2016 that could be bent and worn on the wrist. The newly revealed model is characterized by being more flexibly bendable than the prototype shown seven years ago. Additionally, it eliminated the creaking noise that occurs during deformation, and attached orange fabric and magnets to the back of the product to prevent it from easily falling off the arm.

This product features a large 6.9-inch screen, an OLED display, and runs on the Android OS. The screen can be bent backward to form a bracelet-like shape similar to a bangle. In fact, during the event, the demonstrator showed the smartphone being bent and worn on their arm.

The company explained that this product "can be bent into various shapes according to the user's needs." This smartphone can be worn as a bracelet, unfolded 180 degrees to be used like a traditional bar-shaped smartphone, or bent at the bottom like a stand to be placed upright on a desk.

IT Media: "Unlikely to be Released in the Near Future"

However, it is expected to be difficult to see this product on the market anytime soon.

The overseas IT media outlet The Verge stated, "It seems very unlikely that Motorola will actually release this product in the near future." The outlet added, "We were able to glimpse Motorola's spirit through the bendable smartphone and hope to see bendable smartphones again at future events."
