Seol Woon-do's Agency Claims 'Sudden Acceleration'

On the evening of the 25th, a passenger car crashed into a restaurant in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, injuring 10 people. It was reported that the woman driving the vehicle is the wife of singer Seol Woon-do. It was confirmed that Seol and his son were also in the car at the time of the accident.

According to the police on the 26th, around 8:30 PM the previous day, a traffic accident occurred near Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, when a Mercedes-Benz driven by a woman in her 60s crashed into a commercial building, injuring 10 people. The vehicle hit a taxi in front of it without slowing down while entering an alley and then crashed directly into a restaurant.

Police investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was the wife of singer Seol Woon-do, and it was confirmed that Seol Woon-do and his son were in the car at the time of the accident.

As a result of the accident, three restaurant customers and two pedestrians passing in front of the commercial building were injured, and the taxi driver who collided with the Mercedes-Benz was also injured and received hospital treatment. Seol and his family members in the car reportedly sustained minor injuries such as bruises. Two parked vehicles were also damaged.

Seol Woon-do’s agency, Luce Entertainment, told Channel A, "The family was on their way out to eat when suddenly the vehicle's RPM (revolutions per minute) increased, and even when the brake was applied, the speed did not decrease," claiming sudden unintended acceleration.

Police conducted a breathalyzer test on Seol’s wife, confirming she was not under the influence of alcohol, and a drug screening test also came back negative.

Meanwhile, Seol Woon-do debuted in 1982 through KBS's 'Newcomer Birth' and gained popularity with hit songs such as 'Samba's Woman' and 'Love Twist.' He married in 1990 and has two sons and one daughter.
