Why Is Seoul City Spokesperson Lee Dong-rul So Successful?

Lee Dong-ryul, spokesperson for Seoul City, who accurately represented Mayor Oh Se-hoon's administrative philosophy, was promoted to Grade 2 (Director General) as of the 23rd.

Spokesperson Lee is a 'double winner' of the civil service exams, having passed the 41st Administrative Examination and the 3rd Local Examination. He began his public service career in Yongsan-gu, and after working there for two and a half years, he joined Seoul City, serving as head of the Planning and Coordination Team, Planning Officer, and Policy Planning Officer. Coming from Seoul City's planning division, he is a high-ranking public official valued by superiors for both his competence and strong execution skills.

Spokesperson Lee was rapidly promoted to Grade 2 just 10 months after being appointed as Seoul City spokesperson on January 1st of this year, drawing attention to the background of this swift advancement. He is known as a public official who faithfully carries out assigned tasks and serves superiors well, including Mayor Oh Se-hoon and Administrative Deputy Mayor Kim Ui-seung.

Additionally, he is popular among his peers for his loyalty and humanity, taking care of Director Yoon Hee-cheon, who was ill among their cohort. Spokesperson Lee also overcame the hardship of being sidelined to Traffic Broadcasting at one point. Notably, he shares a close relationship with Administrative Director Jeong Sang-hoon, his peer, and together they are called the 'Top Two of the 3rd Local Examination cohort' who were promoted to Grade 2 consecutively.

Spokesperson Lee, who graduated from Haenam High School and Seoul City University with a degree in Business Administration, is also known as a devoted son who calls his mother in his hometown every day. He humbly stated, “I will communicate well with the staff and diligently carry out the tasks entrusted to me.”
