Following McDonald's, Mom's Touch is also set to raise the prices of some burgers by about 5%. The price hikes in franchise hamburgers are spreading like a domino effect.

According to industry sources on the 26th, Mom's Touch will increase the prices of four burgers using chicken breast patties by 300 won each starting from the 31st of this month. The average rate of increase is about 5%.

Specifically, the prices of ▲Fillet Burger (4,400 won → 4,700 won) ▲White Garlic Burger (4,900 won → 5,200 won) ▲Deep Cheese Burger (4,800 won → 5,100 won) ▲Unbelievable Burger (5,900 won → 6,200 won) will be raised.

However, the prices of the signature menu item, the Thigh Burger, as well as chicken or side menus, will not be increased.

A Mom's Touch representative said, "We originally did not intend to raise prices, but overall cost factors such as poultry have been rising, especially the cost surge caused by supply instability of chicken breast continues. After consulting with franchise owners, we decided to raise prices effective from the 31st of this month."

Meanwhile, prior to this, Korea McDonald's announced that starting from the 2nd of next month, it will raise prices on 13 menu items including four burgers, one McMorning menu, seven sides and desserts, and one beverage by an average of 3.7%. The adjustment range is up to 400 won, with an overall average increase of about 3.7%.

The industry is defending this as an "unavoidable measure due to rising prices." The government, which requested cooperation for price stabilization, has not presented any specific countermeasures.

In the future, domino price hikes are also expected from other major hamburger brands such as Lotteria, Burger King, KFC, and No Brand Burger. These companies have stated that they are "still reviewing" the situation.
