"Expected to Contribute to the Expansion of the AI Ecosystem"

‘Wrtn Technologies’ (hereinafter Wrtn), aiming to be a comprehensive artificial intelligence (AI) portal, revealed the results of the Promptone competition, which saw over 1,500 participants from across the country, on the 26th.

Since April, Wrtn has been hosting the Promptone competition, where participants create AI tools and chatbots using only natural language prompts without any special coding knowledge.

Promptone has been held 22 times, including twice in Tokyo, Japan, as well as in various regions of South Korea such as Seoul, Suwon, Jincheon, Gimcheon, Yangsan, and Jeju, with cumulative participants exceeding 1,500.

Notably, participants came from diverse fields including major universities such as Yonsei University, Sungkyunkwan University, and Kyung Hee University; local governments and public institutions like Gyeonggi Provincial Government and the National Institute of Standards and Technology; and private companies including Green Cross, SK C&C, KB Group affiliates, Shinsegae Department Store, YBM, and Law & Good.

This year, the number of Promptone events is expected to exceed 30, including remaining sessions, with annual participants reaching around 2,000.

A Wrtn representative explained, "Even non-professional developers can easily create AI tools and chatbots through Wrtn’s self-developed AI tool builder, ‘Wrtn Studio.’"

Participants ranged from high school students to those over their 60s. At the Jeju Promptone, the chatbot ‘Divorce Intervention,’ designed to counsel couples wishing to divorce, won an award.

Other unique AI tools that attracted attention and received awards included ‘Honey, Can I Buy This?’ which generates sentences needed to get permission from a spouse to purchase items, and the ‘Perfect Score Memorization Generator,’ which helps memorize difficult words by connecting their first letters.

Based on these achievements, Wrtn plans to introduce the WCC (Wrtn Certified Consultant) certification program to nurture experts certified by Wrtn and support AI education events. WCC participants can join Promptone events operated according to corporate education demands or directly plan and run educational events.

The first cohort is currently being recruited, and after completing Wrtn’s specialized training course next month, the first WCC members will be finally selected.

Se-young Lee, CEO of Wrtn, stated, "We are actively promoting the expansion of AI experiences for general users and the opening of related service gateways. Wrtn Promptone and the WCC certification program are expected to widely spread generative AI experiences throughout our society and contribute to ecosystem expansion."

Meanwhile, Wrtn surpassed 1 million cumulative users just seven months after its service launch. It secured 15 billion KRW in Series A funding from investors including Capstone Partners. Recently, Wrtn also signed a business agreement with Microsoft Korea to promote and expand generative AI services based on Microsoft Azure.
