Coway is targeting premium massage device customers with its newly launched 'Birex Massage Bed,' which is capturing the market by leveraging innovative technology and design. It is being praised for setting a new standard for bed-type massage devices by offering functions not seen in existing bed-type products, such as kneading.

On the 27th, Coway announced that it successfully applied the performance of traditional massage chairs to bed-type devices and recently incorporated this into the 'Birex Massage Bed.' Challenging the bed-type massage device market, Coway has bet on differentiating its massage technology, the essence of massage devices.

The Coway Massage Bed is composed of two types according to the massage module method: ▲‘Massage Bed M (Massage Type),’ which provides powerful massage including kneading and tapping, and ▲‘Massage Bed R (Roller Type),’ which offers soft and deep massage closely following the spinal line. The higher-end model, Massage Bed M, is equipped with a 3D multi-motion engine that combines four heated ceramic balls with two power massage balls, fully embodying the technology of traditional massage chairs. While existing products only allow massage balls to move up and down, the Birex Massage Bed’s massage balls move not only vertically but also horizontally, enabling kneading and tapping. This means users can receive powerful and delicate massages even with a bed-type product.

A premium heating system that delicately cares for the entire body is also applied. Heated ceramic balls capable of customized fine temperature settings up to 65℃ warmly massage from the neck to the waist, and heating pads adjustable in three levels are installed not only on the upper body but also on the lower body. A wireless multi-massage cushion that provides both massage and heating is also included, allowing users to place it on desired areas such as the abdomen, legs, or neck.

The Coway Massage Bed supports precise customized massage according to the user’s body shape and condition, making it suitable for the whole family. It automatically measures spinal length and curvature to provide a perfectly fitting close-contact massage. For the M model, the spacing between massage balls can be adjusted in three steps according to the user’s back width. Massage intensity and speed can be finely controlled in 12 and 3 levels, respectively. With up to 30 massage programs installed, users can select from ▲six basic courses that closely care for the spinal line, ▲six customized courses tailored to user characteristics such as seniors, exam takers, and golfers, and ▲three focused courses that target desired areas, depending on the situation.

Not only powerful performance but also design was not overlooked. It can be used like a sofa stool and easily pulled out to unfold for massage. The colors are available in four options that naturally blend into surrounding furniture and spaces, allowing selection according to interior design and personal taste. A Coway representative said, "The Birex Massage Bed surpasses the technical limitations of existing products and consolidates all the elements customers desired, so we expect it to create a new paradigm in the bed-type massage device market." They added, "When purchased on rental, customers can receive regular maintenance services and parts replacement services, which has garnered positive responses since its launch."
